The housing problem is a global problem that is increasingly depleting the population, which is why today I want to present a highly sustainable alternative that could help eradicate or diminish that problem. These are modular, low-cost and fully equipped houses that operate using only solar energy and are inside a fully expandable container capable of being placed anywhere.
The house has all the comforts that a small and medium family may need, in addition to being environmentally friendly to this made of recycler containers and powered by solar energy.

These look like well thought out and designed tiny houses. Re-purposing old shipping containers is clever design, and the hydraulic slide out option makes them a bit more spacious. I could see these being used as a self-contained studio on a property, or as guest houses on a larger property/air-bnb. The Solar powered option would be the go, the extra $$$ would be beneficial in the long run (plus the environment benefits). Overall, very nice hunt.
I love this expanding container house with the optional extras of the solar power. I think reusing old shipping containers of which there will be a glut as they end their working life is excellent recycling.
Looking at this companies website, they have many solutions for small and large containers for home offices and full houses. An excellent and affordable way to get into a detached home if you have the land.
My worries with these are as follows:-
I'd like to see one first to check out the build quality and fittings and secondly, I'm not sure of the life expectancy. $30,000 USD is a lot to spend if it's only going to last 10 years and need a lot of upkeep.
The companies website is great and it looks fantastic from the outside though and in theory, a winner in my books :-)
Very good solution to solve the problems of affordable housing in cities. This unit can be also used to enlarge a house for a young or old person (given the aging of the population) and keep family together. Great hunt @ideas-abstractas
