Apologies for delayed response.
Yes, although floods are common in India because of the island like states, but this one was horrible partly due to man made mistakes as close to 15 dams floodgates have to be opened almost at same time as all the rivers were overflowing and dams got fulled due to that.
Whatever happened is happened, the estimate of loss is around 40,000 Crores Indian Rupees and my effort is very less as I am planning to raise funds of 1500$ and support from guys like you and @fundition will go along way towards that.
