Android Devices can earn you cryptocurrency
Hi, meet me. I'm IceBurst the lead developer for the Android application related to the alternate cryptocurrency Burst. Nearly all cryptocurrencies that have gained popularity over the years have an Android application but they are all victim to the same flaw, battery drain. Bitcoin, LTC and all other PoW (proof-of-work) coins can be mined on mobile devices but because they are continually performing mathematical calculations against the processor they use battery at a rapid rate.
Enter Burst coin, the PoC (Proof-of-Capacity) coin. Where you complete a set of calculations only once, after wards your storage is scanned to find a successful deadline. Did I over simplify the process? A little; the key take away is that the calculations for mining are only performed once as opposed to EVERY block for a typical coin. As a test we have successfully run phones on battery at length to determine "Is this a long term solution" and the answer appears to be yes. Here is a link to the first successful test of the Android app:

As you can see from the article this was back in late September of 2016, since there there has been many upgrades to the code base to improve compatibility and to work with future version of the Android platform.
So you want to get started, all you need is an Android device and the playstore. Install the following app:

Once you are up and mining you can monitor your progress online at the following address:

If you are having difficulties there are plenty of videos on Youtube to help you along. If you have advanced technical questions I can answer all of those as related to the applications.

What about the issues that it shuts down after few minutes and runs very slow?
Recently there have become different factions in the Burst community. The mobile application has 5 wallet addresses coded into it, if some wallets are down it will find others it just takes time.
Slowly is relative, after all you are asking your phone to perform an amount of SHA calculations. I personally toss my phone on the counter at night, plug it in, let the app run on the top. I have not seen the shutdown issue but if you have any logs or additional data I would be happy to look into it.
