Who needs Recruitment Companies

in #life7 years ago (edited)

Ever received the phone call outlining a new job and to later find out there isn't one

They get a lot of hammering out there but unfortunately they don't really help themselves.

Having read your CV I feel that there is a job where you meet the criteria, but there isn't really a job and what they are actually doing is taking your CV and then putting you forward to the employer as a potential candidate.

Sucks.. Doesn't it but people fall for this trick all the time

I personally don't like the recruitment industry because what they say and what they actually do are never the same.

They play with you, build you up as you are the only candidate and then when you are hooked and have told your family and friends that a new job is on the horizon , more money , better prospects , you wait and wait ,and never hear from them again.

Unfortunately that is more the case and they wonder why they are not trusted.

You are the product they are trying to sell, but if another CV comes up which in their opinion is a little better than you, you are suddenly dropped like a sack of spuds.

No phone call, no email, nothing .

You then try and phone them and find that every time you call this person is in a meeting, or you get I,ll get him to call you.

GUESS WHAT.. Yes.. No phone call

Today’s age is made up of automation yet its increasingly common for recruitment companies to look for professionals whose only qualifications for a position are that their profile happens to contain particular keywords or a relevant search term.

Sending irrelevant jobs out with the belief that quantity of outreach beats quality of engagement means more and more, even the most relevant messages get ignored or lost in a sea of unsolicited, unrelated recruitment communications.

Once a candidate is successfully identified and enters the hiring process, recruiters don't help themselves by turning candidates off during the screening process because it becomes really obvious that they have no idea what they’re looking for, or any idea about the industry they’re recruiting in.

Which makes it pretty hard for a job seeker to trust their careers with someone who doesn’t know the first thing about careers in their sector.

Pet hates..

All pleasantries at the start

False promises

Lies and deceit

Not knowledgeable about your industry

They don't phone you back

They don't communicate

You have to chase them

You look for jobs that don't exist.

Fake jobs on even the Jobcentre website.

Action...

Don't use them as they are parasites

Only talk with companies direct

Do your own homework

Send your CV directly to an employer
