I Love Him

Dear God, we need to talk. I've been faithful and loyal and honest in all of my dealings. I've served you right, and I've made you proud.

Okay, maybe not entirely proud. But I've done my best to be a good son. If my best isn't good enough, then what's the point.

The thing is I'm tired of hiding secrets. They say you see everything. So perhaps this wouldn't be a secret to you. But it's eating me deeply. I want to be free.

Every night, we have a conversation. The one where I confess my sins. I swear never to repeat them. I tell myself that's the last of it. But the following evening, I'm back again begging for forgiveness.

I think I realize now, it's who I am. I can't change even if I wanted to. But every morning when I walk the streets, I feel like filth and I try to hide my shame.

So I'm here to lay it all bare. You taught us about true love. You said there is a kind of love that would make one sacrifice his own son. I know you were talking about yourself

I think I have that kind of love right now. I'm talking about true love that makes one makes enormous sacrifice.
