Here is how you can earn a better Curation Reward

Hi guys,
If you are a new user, you might have read or heard somewhere in the community that you are getting paid for creating and curating contents.. So in this post I will try to share some tips with you by my own observations as how to earn a good curation reward. And if you are not a new user and are a pundit in curation, please correct me where I'm wrong.

So in simple words, curation is upvoting others and curation rewards are the rewards for upvoting posts if you are voting a post that simply means you are investing(Because it charges your voting power) your vote in that post with an expectation that it goes hit and you could earn good Curation reward but it depends mostly on your SP.. The more you have SP, the more is your contribution on the post to drive it hit, the more will you get curation rewards.

So you can say that if you don't Upvote any posts you will get no curation rewards. CR is always rewarded in SP. In order to earn a handsome curation reward, you can follow some tricks and if you are the one with high SP, it's heaven.. I know I don't have a good SP right now, but still I love to research on Curation.

1) Be the discoverer of good posts.

Well, there are tons of good posts in the new feed. You can pick them and vote on. Be the discoverer of undervalued posts which have a good quality. Vote on them with an estimation as how hit will the post go and use the Voting slider best way to adjust your voting strength on that post..If you vote on a post with 100% Weight and doesn't happen to go hit, then you are not supposed to earn a good CR.

2) Don't vote trending posts expecting a good Curation reward.

Digging the trending posts and Voting them is not a good idea to earn a good Curation reward. It's like you are adding a drop of water in a pond (Never saying they take it like that :D). And which hardly gives you any good Curation rewards as you didn't have your own contribution for the post to drive it to the trending page. So, I would rather prefer give a thoughtful comment than to expect CR on voting ;).

3)Search tags and topics which are popular and vote posts which you find readers might love to read or there is something worth reading.

As you can see in the right side of your feeds there are tags and topics section which shows you popular topics. Go dig posts with these tags and find out quality posts and vote them. However, it never means tags beyond the popular topics don't go viral.

4) Being an early contributor.

Well early voters are always more important and do earn a better amount. It is because a potential post is discovered by them and a good Curation reward is maybe for their efforts and also based on their SP (and it is nothing more than my assumption). So you try to vote a post as early as possible. But hey..

There is a twist that from the payouts of a post 25% goes to the curators and rest to the authors. Means whatever you earn by Curation is from that 25%, You are getting a small part from that 25% which is distributed among the curators. So to maximize your part you should be very clever and conscious. According to the 'Thirty minutes rule' if you vote a second old post, all the rewards in your part(Based on your SP) will be returned to the author. If you vote a 3 minutes old post, you'll get only 10% of CR allocated to curators depending on your SP and VP. And afaik you'll get 100% of your part if you vote after 30mins. But it is a challenge to find out a quality post sitting undervalued even after 30 minutes

5) Find out Sources which assures a good Curation reward.

If you find a quality post that fulfil guidelines of curie to be selected for their trail vote, you can propose them in Streemian and also grab a chance to get finders fees. So you are getting CR plus finders fee which I think is about 10 or 15 Steem. Good luck 😉

Again, you can also go vote posts which are nominated for guild votes by steemvoter. Check steemvoter's latest post and check out the nominations which you think would win and vote the original post. They select top two posts for guild votes. Voting on both will give you a better amount ;)

Please note, These are just things I found helpful by my own experiment and also by observation to earn a good CR.. Many new users aboard have invested in SP and looking for tricks to earn better. As I myself don't follow most of the above things so I can't ask you to follow them all. Just do your own research and find out what goes good for you;)
