This time I am going to share what I have discovered, “okonomiyaki”, where to find it easily and how affordable it is, ₱150 and almost the size of the paper plate, your pockets won’t be empty by this. Another japanese food to ingest just as the same as takoyaki as I have mentioned in my daily food
photography 02.

OKONOMIYAKI FACTS:
▪️A pancake like for Japanese people with various ingredients just like takoyaki, a savory one.
▪️It is said to be originated in Kansai or Hiroshima areas (northern part of Japan).
▪️It became known during the WWII (World War II) because of the shortage of food/rice supply.
▪️Considered as one of the nutritious foods too.

Japanese Food!!!! Yes! To all Japanese foodies out there, hear me out!!!

Passed by a food truck or mini food van along mango square (Gen. Maxilum Ave.), actually I’ve been seeing this food truck for days already in the same spot beside 7/11 convenience store across One Mango Square, really wanted to buy okonomiyaki, so I ordered it. There are 2 staff who serve & cook the food (Sir Arnold and Ms. Justine). The “Okinawa Heat” (food truck’s name) has just been there for 8 days, so it’s new. The spot that they have can be of many people because there are bars near the place and people hangout there, they have tables and chairs placed near the food truck, so no need to worry where you want to eat if you buy. This is a good catch because they can drive from one place to another when they sell their food, really interesting.

Aside from their specialties like okonomiyaki, gyudon and curry rice, they do serve some appetizing foods too. They have gyoza, rice nikumaki stick, tempura and let’s not forget their ultimate yummy dessert, matcha aisu (green tea ice cream). They have affordable prices.

(Because I was so curious, I asked a lot of questions to Sir Jonard how.)

(He mixed all the ingredients here (except the okonomiyaki sauce) you put it after it is cooked. Delish right?

Asked one staff, Sir Jonard what ingredients he put to make okonomiyaki.

  1. Rice flour
  2. Japanese ginger
  3. Cabbage (a lot)
  4. Meat (depends on what you like, pork or beef)
  5. Egg
  6. Fish flakes or katsubushi (to add more flavor in the food)
  7. Green onions
  8. Okonomiyaki sauce

(When it’s done,he sprinkled the katsubushi (fish flakes) to add more flavor in it.

The taste of this okonomiyaki is incredible, really savory, I think it suits on my taste that I could say it’s pleasing to my mouth. There’s a combination of a little saltiness and not too sweet taste plus the yummy okonomiyaki sauce.

I really had a great meal. Full tummy!

MORE INFORMATION:
