Calling all Steemians! I need your help PLEASE !
My fellow Steemians, today I'm sad. I feel like my steem has been sucked out of me.
I post about once or twice a day, and I try and post good content. I don't just spit out random meme's, I post about stuff that happens in my life on a daily basis.
Things that interest me. Yet, my posts don't even break $3 or $5. & that's with Minnowsupport! Yes, my posts currently are like on $15 or $20, but that's because a very generous gentleman ( I won't mention @fyrstikken name ) saw my posts and gave me some upvotes.
But I mean, what am I doing wrong? I know I haven't been here long, but I have 300 odd followers. Surely my posts should at least clear $5? Am I posting nonsense? Are my posts too few & far between?
I will definitely NOT give up. I refuse to! It's just sometimes it gets a bit much.
So I come to you, Steemians, for advice.
- How can I improve?
- What am I doing wrong? ( If anything )
Constructive criticism is welcome here.
I really need a laptop, but it's hard to save if posts aren't making anything. I want to invest in STEEM, but it's hard if posts are tanking. I'm sure many people are having this problem, so maybe in the comments you guys can offer some helpful advice please?
Business is slow at the moment, and I really enjoy Steemit.

I feel the same way! I only post original content that I wrote along with fun graphics I made myself and a fucking cat meme gets 100 up votes and nothing for original content...
If you find the secret let me know, atleast you made it to 54 influence! Im struggling! lol

However, I do believe some people have been here a lot longer hence the upvotes. I salute them, I really do.

Yeah im just tired of spam and shite posts about nothing on every social media platform.
300 followers is not enough yet, and really, it matters more who the followers are as 1 user with 1000 SP is worth 1000 users with 1 SP. You may need to continue focusing on commenting in hot posts (early after posting) to get followers before you spend too much more effort on content creation.
I have over 900 followers and it's quite normal for my posts to make less than half what my own vote was worth. If my girl didn't have a lot of SP I'd have a lot of $1-$3 payouts.
You have to remember, Steemit is more like a lottery than a job. You don't get consistent rewards. Every once in awhile, you hit it big with a piece of quality content. It's like playing poker - you have to deal with a lot of negative variance.
Also, are you posting things that are either better than what is already available from users with established followings, or somehow different? If not, you may need to reevaluate.
Good luck, try to keep it up. We're all still early adopters here, if it wasn't a big of a slog through the mud, it wouldn't be possible to have a hypothetical moon-shot.

I've been here about a month now and I don'T repost the same thing twice, yes some posts are to catch up on here things I put on my website and such, but it's all new ehre, never repeated. Posts I think will do well, do poorly, and posts I had no clue would do well, get $5 or $10. I haven't gotten much yet but I believe that as my account status grows, it will increase. Also, I noticed that the tags are very important. I make a bookmark of this page about the Steemit tags: https://steemit.com/tags It helps me and since I've been paying attention and carefully tagging my posts, more of them do well. "Well" for me is more that 0.05. We need to be patient, but I am optimistic! I'm confident you will do well too :) We need to give ourselves a chance.

Wow, you have very high expectations. Every senior seemit writer I have met or read about always says it takes time. I think time is longer then what we would like it to be. We could track our following and use all the bots for extra upvotes, but truly if you want more you have to do more.
I try to keep expectations low. I do a happy dance if my post go over $1. Then again that is without any minnowsupport push. With that said, I do get upset when my post don't get a lot of comments. You see my goal isn't just upvotes, but comments. Engagement.
You see the secret is to comment A LOT. Comment on all your favorite writers post, comment on new users. Comment on post that you would never read. Comment, comment, comment. Do you see where i am going with this? The point is to engage with people and get them to be curious as to who you are.
Fight for readers not just followers. Those will always come, but true readers, upvoters, and steemers come from commenting. Would you agree?
Take it from someone much smaller than yourself sir, who is even jealous of you from time to time, forget about the money. I know it is hard but put your focus on the networking, meeting new people, and writing about things that give you all that energy we all love. Your doing things right, the pay will come in time.
Hell without Steemit and Discord I would have never known about a guy @iamnotageek. I for one am glad I was given the opportunity.

90% of users that join steemit become inactice within firdt month. So its a tough life here.
