Song of the Day - Prayer in C by Lilly Wood & The Prick

Likely one of the more popular songs that I'm posting on here, I've got to say that I've gotten pretty attached to this song over the past couple of days. Many of you might know it by Robin Schultz's remix which boasts a significant amount of plays over the original version, but the remix has these super clean EDM tropes that strip a lot of character out of it and doesn't exactly sit well with me.

The original however takes on a slower character to it with the same melancholy style that makes the remix so popular. Coming across like some sort of gypsy funeral march, it's a sad song that resonates centered around a memorable melody and vulnerable and restrained vocal performance. It resonates with pain and a motif of not being willing to forgive someone's transgressions. Definitely a mournful song, but operating in rare territory that stays with you long past a single listen.
