I'm not sure how a person would estimate numbers of individual people, but here is some rough data on individual accounts.
37,000 accounts total.
14,000 accounts active in the past week
5,400 accounts active in the past 24 hours.
Since people can own more than 1 account, there's no way to know for sure how many people there are.
There's already more people posting than I can possibly keep up with. A new post every few seconds. Impossible to read them all, or even read all the titles.
I'm starting to like this community more @twiceuponatime even though I just started today. I'll play more with it. Blogging is really new to me. It's like tumblr and redit on steroids but mixed with a twist and we get the social revenues too. I like that! How long have you been on here for?
