Who made you, who decided that you'd be pretty.

Pretty colors, what chance do the lesser versions of you stand?
They go by without a glance, forever forced to hide under the shadows of your brilliance.
Pretty colors, I don't mind that you're perfect, It just hurts thinking about not being able to live up to that.
Faded out, forgotten and left behind, like foot soilders in a war.
No stories told about the vibrance, the warmth or the appeal of the ones lesser than you.
Pretty colors, I'm tired of trying to be in the same range as you, so tired that your shadows seem perfectly comfortable.
Oh pretty colors, I don't want to spend my life constantly wondering if I'll be enough, scared that no one will notice me in this shadow you cast.
Maybe I'll just step down and let you be perfect,
I'll be fine, flawed and unnoticed.
Monochrome suited me best anyway.
