@cloudspyder I have just published a post about building a hydroponic system at home, I am not sure if it is the same as the one shown in this post but it works great as well.
And it can be easily converted to aquaponics if you really want to.
Looks like the burnt tips can be due to over supply of nitrogen, perhaps you are over fertilizing the reservoir?
What is your current EC ? and Do you grow the basil together with the strawberries?
Might be the issue...as the strawberries require between 1.8-2.2 EC while basil can work with 0.6-0.8 ...anything above 1.5 would cause those burnt tips to form.
You can also see that slight curving of the leaves, that also a sign for over fertilization as even the lower leaves (far away from the light) are curved up.
But looks lush and green...so lots of strawberries soon :)
How to setup one of those... i am wondering, do you grow fish too along with those plants.
No fish, I want to build an Aquaponics though. This one is super easy, just got to ClickandGrow.com

What lights and how far from tops are they? I currently don't grow but someday I will.
I believe it is just a regular plant growth LED, and currently it is about 1.5 inches away, and I can't raise it any higher.
