What Defines Your Success?: Better Life With Steem
If you were told success has no definition, what will be your reaction?
Assalamualaikum family!
It's yet another day to share with you my opinion on the word success. The world may have definitions for success, but I believe success has it's own definition in the heart and mind of every individual.
As humans, our thoughts,our goals and our dreams in life always differ from each other. It will therefore be unfair of the world to try defining everyone's success.
You define your success!
For all we know, attaining riches and acheiving higher positions is what our world call success. This has been one of the reasons why most people have failed in succeeding." An unhappy billionaire" haven't you heard of such a creature before? Success which fail to bring happiness, should it really be termed success?
If we define success this way, then billions of people might have died unsuccessful.
We inherit wealth and positions but success can never be inherited. It takes your own efforts, time and sacrifices to become successful. People give up wealth to become happy but success is always accompanied with happiness.
What defines your success?
While in School, I once met a young beggar. It was after our usual lunch. After sneaking out of the dinning hall with our food, my best friend and I saw a girl in tattered clothes sitting at our favorite spot. We quickly moved to her and inquired why she wasn't in school when she was supposed to be. " I don't go to school" she said. What then are you doing here?,we asked. With her eyes filled with tears, she told us she wanted food to eat. Aisha was generosity in it's human form. She quickly handed the girl our lunch box. I still remember how the poor girl fed on the food; as if she had starved for a month. As she ate, I noticed the smile on her face. Suddenly, Aisha shouted with excitement and said "I have succeded"
Just putting a smile on a girls face, she had completed a lifetime goal. That was success according to her.
Success is a mindset. Believing in yourself is the first step to success. It always start with a dream and takes determination and patience to accomplish. But no matter what your success is, it should always bring happiness.
