Hello and welcome everyone to this another Curation report by the Team Cosmopolitan for the month of August. First of all congratulations to our team member @fombae for now being a part of #club100.
The curation has been going on smoothly all thanks to my efficient team members. We're following the no comment no vote criteria strictly and our discord channel where we send posts which don't have any comments is getting crowded. But don't worry, we're keeping a strict check, so if your post receives a comment and is worthy of a vote, you'll be curated.

@bossj23 publication is on his activities and understanding of some terminologies used on the platform such as upvotes, engagement, etc. My interest was that @bossj23 is new on the platform and has used the short time to work on his club status and voting CSI score. With the ongoing engagement challenge, @bossj23 was able to engage in publications made by others. For the past seven days, @bossj23 was able to make six publications making use of markdown tags. to be honest, on my day, I didn't find any good posts worthy of being nominated. @prilly's post was comparatively better than anyone's on that day. She has shown her commitment to powering up and strengthening her account on steemit.

I chose @mbemba2310's post today while curating because it answered some of the concepts that users, particularly newbies, need to understand in order to succeed on Steemit. He also went on to explain club status and the necessity of membership, as well as the importance of powering up to the users and the Steemit platform, and he explained why he has been powering up all of his earnings in order to maintain club100. As a team you definitely need to be more diligent in your selection of the posts of the week. Some are extremely weak.
It seems the #steemgrowth tag particularly is producing few posts of worth. Should that tag be dropped as a community curation tag?

I intended to make a post on this issue, infact in this blog I posted yesterday, I pointed out a lot of things of why users do not get a vote.
The thing with #steemgrowth tag is that everyone thinks they're working towards #steemgrowth. Infact today, I scrolled past a lot of diary games with no whatsoever connection to Steemgrowth using this tag. People here are using this tag alot. Even when we skip alot of posts, we end up reading powerup posts and promotional posts which are not really worthy of a nomination.
I think, we need to present a strict criteria of when to use the #steemgrowth tag, maybe I'll do it myself but untill and unless it comes from the Steemit team itself, a lot of people won't go through it.
Furthermore, we'll be more diligent in the upcoming weeks and I will guide my team members to only curate on those posts which are worthy of it. I think dropping this tag altogether would also affect the users who are really focused towards the actual steemgrowth. This week, we'll try to filter out more than we have been doing. Or what the Steemit team can do is come up with a not-so-general community curation tag and maybe something specific so that users don't overuse it. But there won't be long-term change or effect until the Steemit team announces it...

You might want to remind your team that they need to check the people as much as the posts - particularly if looking at #steemgrowth posts.
For example, taking a look at the voting of the first selected author it is clear they are not really a good candidate for a selected post of the week.

Great job Team Cosmopolitan, it has not been an easy task following the rule on commenting. So far it's not been as challenging as expected, as many are getting to understand the objectives behind it.
