Seated Figure Drawing

This piece is one of my first live figure model drawings during a figure drawing session while I was out in New Jersey. As you can see, it appears quite simple, but yet the composition of the piece is quite balanced and harmonious. 

The outline of the figure is thick, and then I applied some shadows around the figure, but the point was not the create something photo realistic, but rather, just shape the figure through lines and blocks.

I left in some of the grids to give it added effects as well as allowing water to drip in certain areas to give a fluid effect.

All these additions help with giving the piece more of an overall mood, instead of the figure simply sitting.
