resurrection

Celebrating the spiritual rebirth and unconditional agapi (love) between all mankind.

The timing is coincidentally or intentionally aligned with the changing of the seasons. Out with the old, cold death of winter and in with the warm, new life spring.

Now that spring is officially here, it should bring with it some increasingly better weather. And hopefully along with the the good weather, the spiritual resurrection of all of us will make life more pleasant. Regardless of what your beliefs are or are not.

Most of these are in preparation for Sunday or are “Saturday night” post-resurrection (after midnight) traditions.

The one post-resurrection tradition that is common, of cracking dyed eggs while reciting the paschal greetings noted above, was not documented here.

The other well known tradition is for roasting lamb or goat on a spit or more commonly in Crete around a large fire (antikristo). This roast takes place on Sunday.
