Horror Film "Braid" to be Fully Funded by Ethereum Crowdsale
Horror Production Sinks its Teeth Into Crypto for Funding
A first of its kind in the film industry has begun. Instead of seeking help from Hollywood's or crowdsource platforms like Kickstarter, director Mitzi Peirone decided instead to be a pioneer by raising the projected budget of $1.4m minimum to a hopeful top maximum of $2.1m worth of Ethereum to get her film production going.
Here is the details of her film's plot
“Braid is a psychological thriller about two girls who moved to NYC to become artists and got involved in illegal activities instead – when they run out of money, they decide to return to their childhood home to rob their oldest friend who has been living in the fantasy world they created as children. To get her money the girls have to take part in her twisted game of make believe, descending into a psychedelic hell through role play, violent punishments and eventually murder.”
This project has already attracted a lot of buzz in the screenwriting awards circuit, plus numerous hype growing in the horror media outlets who are anticipating a great addition to the ever increasing need for original story telling in horror. Needless to say the investment backers going in on this have a bit of an edge to know its a well received film before day one of its production being orchestrated.
Ethereum Crowdsale and how investors can Profit
The crowdsale began June 7th and from what I seen the logistics of the profit sharing for this project will go like this, 100 percent of the revenue will be paid to token holders until their investment is recovered along with a 15 percent interest rate. Then remaining profits taken in by the film will be divided 70/30, with 30 percent of the net profits being proportionally distributed to token holders. In turn this great horror film gets made, the Hollywood middle man is cut out and investors are crypto backers who should see a rise in profits due to the nature of Ethereum on the rise. Everybody wins and films get made, so hopefully this goes off without a hitch...this could become a standard in how we make films in the future.
