I pray that the Holy Spirit will reveal all that we are going to do in this studies.
" 1 Cor 2: 10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.

THE FIRST FIVE ATTRIBUTES DESCRIBES GOD’S ESSENTIAL NATURE
ESSENCE OF GOD
5 Things about God which make Him God:

1. God is spirit.
2. God is life.
3. God is perfect.
4. God is unique.
5. God is eternal.

We will look at the first attribute:

1. GOD IS SPIRIT

Meaning: God in His essential nature is spirit.
Explanation:

• God in His essence is not physical or material although in Christ He chose to take on the limitations of human flesh.
  John 4:23-24 "But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

• God is invisible, except as He chose to reveal Himself in Christ.

John 1:18 18 "No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son,[f] who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him."

Colossians 1:15 "He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation."
1 Timothy 1:17 "Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise,[a] be honor and glory forever and ever." Amen.

1 Timothy 6:14-16 "that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing, 15 which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen."

1 John 1:1-2
"That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life— 2 the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us."

• God can’t be represented accurately by any man-made images (honor the prohibition against idolatry)
  Exodus 20:3-4 "3 “You shall have no other gods before Me.
  4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;"

• God in His essence has simplicity (no division or parts) and unity.
  Deuteronomy 6:4 4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one![b] 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength."
