steemit ads
I joind steemit almost two years ago. from the very beginning I wondered why there are no ads?
what's the point behind ignoring such great potential for revenue?
I also wondered why they use google ads on their searches?!
and now after the massive gain loss in cryptos and altcoins, they have started it. still good, but there are two main questions I can't stop thinking of:
why google ads again? such a platform deserves a marketing plan and a business model for advertising. they should believe in themselves as a serious player in content market.
why don't they share the revenue with the authors? after all steemit had this great and distinguished advantage compared to other blogging platforms, to share incentives directly with authors, using the fabulous blockchain, STEEM.
I think at this point its their only source of revenue apart from dumping stake at their currency prices and they've head to lean up the team because of it. The ad revenue has since protected us from larger price drops and dumping the coin, which I don't see as such a bad thing to be honest the more distribution the better.
As for running their own native ad service I think its a good idea to dev as part of a way to compete with google ads and hopefully move away from it eventually. We are seeing crytpo ad networks grow as google and facebook continue to squeese this time of content on their platform.
Steemit could eventually be the go to site for spreading your crypto news via ads in future
