Greetings Steemians!

Today I would like to tell you about the botanicals and spices that we use in HOME GIN KIT for the elaboration of VERMOUTH.

  • Wormwood: Known since ancient times by the Egyptians, later transmitted to the Greeks. It is a perennial herbaceous plant, it has the leaves arranged spirally and they are greenish gray on the front and white on the back. Its flavor is characterized by a marked bitter character.
It can be found in almost all of Europe and the western Maghreb, since it was originally distributed from Western Europe to Central Asia. And at present, it is possible to find it in almost all the world due to the little difficulty of its cultivation.

  • Salvia: Salvia is a genus of perennial plant that belongs to the family of the Lamiaceae (Lamiaceae), like mint, oregano, rosemary or thyme. Its flavor is somewhat spicy, astringent and pronounced. Due to its intensity of flavor and aroma it is convenient to use it in a moderate way.

  • Gentian: The Gentian is a spice with its origin in the Carpathians and rarely appears in other mountain ranges of Europe and Asia. It is a perennial herbaceous plant with strong and powerful root. Its bitter taste lies especially in its root, which makes it ideal for preparing tonics, liquors and infusions.
