What are crosswind landings?
At touchdown, an aircraft's body has to be aligned with the runway. But what if there is strong wind on one of the sides of the airplane. Such wind will tilt the direction of the airplane, and is therefore dangerous. In such scenarios, pilots do what is known as a crosswind landing, where they deliberately keep the plane a little bit tilted so that the wind brings the plane back towards straight position. The pilots here obviously have to adjust the plane a little bit themselves to make it fully straight.
The following video shows such crosswind landings. Aren't they scary?
