The people of Ostghuta in Syria are experiencing the worst attacks since the beginning of the war. Because of the many dead children, Unicef publishes an empty press release.
Die Menschen in Ostghuta in Syrien erleben die schlimmsten Angriffe seit Beginn des Krieges. Wegen der vielen toten Kinder veröffentlicht Unicef eine leere Pressemitteilung.
For some days now, the Syrian regime, with Russian support, has been flying the heaviest air raids to date against Ostghuta - and is in the process of wiping out the besieged region in eastern Damascus. According to observers, almost 200 civilians were killed in less than 48 hours, including many children.
In some parts of East Hutas the destruction is greater than in the final phase of the struggle for Ostaleppo 2016, and these pictures document the suffering of the people.
Seit einigen Tagen fliegt das syrische Regime mit russischer Unterstützung die bisher schwersten Luftangriffe gegen Ostghuta - und ist dabei, die belagerte Region im östlichen Damaskus auszulöschen. Nach Angaben von Beobachtern wurden in weniger als 48 Stunden fast 200 Zivilisten getötet, darunter viele Kinder. In einigen Teilen Osthutas ist die Zerstörung größer als in der Endphase des Kampfes um Ostaleppo 2016, und diese Bilder dokumentieren das Leid der Menschen.
Since 2013, the Syrian regime has besieged Ostghuta. Since the beginning of 2017, the inhabitants have been almost completely cut off from food and medicine. In addition, the Russian and Syrian air forces are bombing schools, residential buildings and hospitals on a daily basis.
The remaining wards are completely overloaded because of the many wounded.
The doctors don't have enough drugs and hardly any equipment.
Patients die every day because they cannot get the necessary treatment. There is hardly any drinking water and electricity left. Many children are malnourished, many families live in hiding places underground.
Seit 2013 belagert das syrische Regime Ostghuta. Seit Anfang 2017 sind die Bewohner fast vollständig von Nahrungsmitteln und Medikamenten abgeschnitten. Darüber hinaus bombardieren russische und syrische Luftstreitkräfte täglich Schulen, Wohngebäude und Krankenhäuser. Die übrigen Stationen sind wegen der vielen Verwundeten völlig überlastet. Die Ärzte haben nicht genug Medikamente und kaum Ausrüstung. Die Patienten sterben jeden Tag, weil sie nicht die notwendige Behandlung erhalten können. Es gibt kaum noch Trinkwasser und Strom. Viele Kinder sind unterernährt, viele Familien leben in Verstecken unter der Erde.
The UN Children's Fund Unicef has denounced the attacks with an unusual statement. The organisation issued an empty press release. In the end, it says in a footnote:"We no longer have the words to describe the suffering of children and our indignation.
Do those who cause this suffering still have words to justify their barbaric acts?".
Das UN-Kinderhilfswerk Unicef hat die Anschläge mit einer ungewöhnlichen Erklärung angeprangert. Die Organisation veröffentlichte eine leere Pressemitteilung. Am Ende heißt es in einer Fußnote:"Wir haben nicht mehr die Worte, um das Leiden der Kinder und unsere Empörung zu beschreiben. Haben diejenigen, die dieses Leiden verursachen, noch Worte, um ihre barbarischen Taten zu rechtfertigen?".
