Will There Ever be Anything Better Than Bitcoin and Ethereum?

I Love the world of Crypto Currency because we are a true experiment in free market economics. As someone who despises government interference I look at this new economy in awe because my ideas about how an economy should operate are unfolding in front of my eyes.
It really makes me laugh when I see so many of my friends who are the first ones to say, "there should be a law for that" jumping on the Bitcoin, Ethereum and Crypto Currency train. I think deep down inside every Statist has an Anarcho-Capitalist trying to get out. You see, everybody wants the latest and greatest. You know and I know it, yet the masses continually look to governments for approval.
Crypto Currency has shown us that we don't need bureaucrats to create something amazing! Imagine if Vitalik had to wait for government approval to make the hard fork that saved Ethereum or the government got involved in the Bitcoin scaling debate and forced the world to accept Bitcoin Unlimited. We would get nowhere fast! All you need to do is look at government education programming to understand.

Enter Free Market Innovation.
In an economy where innovation is set loose we see rapid improvements. If you think the fall of Blackberry was fast, just wait until you see how quickly blockchains go obsolete in the world of Crypto Currency. Bitcoin is now like a 57 Chevy. Sure it drives and still gets you from point A to Point B but it needs a serious tune up. Ethereum has proven that it can be hacked and seems to be attracting more corporate interest which in my opinion will slow it down. Imagine where it would be if it was not for the DAO hack!
Now think about some of the projects on the horizon. EOS, Tezos and of course my favorite Guld. These projects could possibly be a huge step forward for smart contracts. If you think for one minute that Ethereum and Bitcoin will always be at the top I will remind you that in free market economics it is not the technology that has the most power that wins it is the technology that the masses love that wins.

Last night @AnaHilarski and I went to a meeting hosted by our friend Ira Miller of Guld. He did a presentation on smart contracts. The applications I see for smart contracts in the coming years will be revolutionary. The world will be flipped turned upside down!

I recommend that you take a look at the other projects and not leave all of your Crypto holdings in just one. Back in the day the Commodore 64 was great technology but where is the company now? Bitcoin and Ethereum are revolutionary technology but their competition is ready for center stage.
Well, there is already something better then Bitcoin and Ethereum, its called Steem and EOS!

I don't think government can do much in the crypto world. They could ban it, lay some rules and constraints on it, but can't control it.
Because people love the cryptocurrencies and We The people make government. And what we like will be the thing that even government has to follow.
That's a great piece of advice to not to hold all of our investments in a single coin, like there is a saying, "Don't keep all your eggs in a single Basket".
The more we explore the crypto world, the better coins we found everyday, and the more we believe in them.
Will the Bitcoin and Ethereum will always be on the top?
Well It's like asking Will the US dollar or the gold will be at the top or most wanted. We have seen recently that bitcoin has outdated gold.
Bitcoin was found on the belief that there is a flaw in fiat money and transactions throughout the world. Some day bitcoin might be flawed and people will adopt the new coin more and more but till then, It is the "king of Crypto World".
Absolutely, I can't argue with that. Over time it will lose dominance but it is here to stay just like gold.

Once Blockchain becomes mainstream like the internet, innovation will far exceed our wildest dreams.

I was just laughing with my buddies about how this is a funny experiment in Austrian-Economics. Unfortunately, it's total market cap is still so small that it could manipulated as easily as a penny stock, so outside influence may really hurt a lot of people in the long run.
I agree on your comment about the sheeople, but I still think that this could be a massive strength to some currencies. As I suggested in my Rpple(XRP) analysis, there can be high gains for usage coins which are accepted as legal tender. This is because 'legal tender' means forced mass market acceptance.
I think that the opposite will happen, especially as more smart-contracts are successfully executed and more programmers consume Ether to fuel their blockchain projects. Eitherway, I guess that we will see by the end of this year!

Hey @hilarski, I clicked on the Guld link in your post but it's very confusing to me. Can you point me somewhere to educate myself about what is going on there on that site?
I second that. This thing is still unravelling and Bitcoin and Ethereum are not the only ones. I see great usability for Ripple (XRP) for international settlements and with backing from some strong companies out there including Google Ventures. This thing is the future and all we need is a Leap of Faith.
