Facebook Warned Me Before Heading Over to Steemit

Facebook has Begun Warning Users of Steemit.com.
We were discussing what Facebook would do to Steemit links while at SteemFest. It seems that all the noise about #FakeNews has prompted Facebook to start warning it's delicate user base that Steemit is an unsafe site.
Now we all know this is BS. This is just one more way for Facebook to control the destinations of its users. The problem is for every person that continues on to Steemit there will be a handful that decide the risk is too great. Let me tell you why, "they have never heard of Steemit.com". If someone is not familiar with a website they will not click through to it. I know I would not and I have been at this game for a long time.
Now for the Other Reason I Think Facebook Flagged this Post.
The slug or url contains words that would fall into the categories that Facebook is looking to flag. Here are a few that I found in the url.
- Agenda
- News
- Truth
- Bias
Now this may seem innocent, but there is a war over minds right now and Facebook is on the side of mainstream media. So I recommend people test different methods. Try to change up the titles and urls by making them less threatening to mainstream media. Don't use hot words like Fake News if you plan to share to Facebook. Use alternate social media platforms like Google Plus and Twitter until they grow tired of the truth on Steemit.
Remember, "Social Media is a Game and You Have to Show Up Everyday to Play It."

That's just simple link security, so you realize you are leaving facebook.com. It's a common practice in website development.
While i certainly wouldn't put it past factbook, there is another possible explanation here.
The '@' symbol in a url is a potential red flag. It can be used to pass login credentials to another site.... i have no idea if thats actually the case here, but id be curious to see if they gave you the same warning going to a feed (which wouldnt have the @ symbol)
I have never heard of that before. Let's hope that you are right.
If Steemit.com starts to be seen as a threat in Fecebook's eyes, it is a darn good sign that this platform is moving up in the ranks of influences as well as communication. I'll take it as a good sign. I'm surprise to see it took them so long to wake up to this but, by now, their slowly being shoved over against a hard place and our rock is rollin'! Namaste :)
Steemit has around 120k registered users of which approximately 4% are actually active..... On the other hand..
What could potentially be worrisome for them is a power of the platform itself and the people behind the making of Facebook are definitely aware of such potential as this is the kind of ideas that they, themselves, used to get where they're at now. The freedom of communication and, of course, the financial motivational aspect of it, coupled up with this technology is a seed to be reckoned with. Judging by the results on the stats offered by the cryptocurrency world, the potentiel is staggering and the growth quite surreal, especially if you compare it with Facebook when it first started. as you and I know, Steemit.com is only at its infancy, only a few months after its inception, 120k isn't too bad. ;) People are learning with the beta form and as it will take much easier user-friendly shape, I can't help but see a revolution in itself. We shall see as time will tell. Namaste :)
For sure F! is not worried about users, sure. Maybe about the idea? There are "patent wars" ongoing. If you come first with the idea of making a social network based on a Blockchain, the next point is how much F! must pay for the patent. At least, attorneys would be concerned.
Great post. Blessed be the day when "Facebook power" will be transferred to Steempower!
Lol :-)
One more reason to hate Facebook. They just seem to be trying to annoy their users.
Fauxbook strikes out!!
Yeah, I got the same thing posting a SteemNews.Online article today. It was the first time I'd seen that.
Replicated: Search steemnews and click the link.
Stasibook.
