UFC Fight Night 150 - Carla Esparza -135 vs Virna Jandiroba +115 - Betting Thoughts

I thought I was going to bet on this fight but now I have second thoughts.

Carla is coming off two straight losses. Carla was TKO's by Tatiana Suarez in September 2018. She also lost a split decision to Claudia Gadelha in June of the same year. These two losses make her record 13-6.

I have never heard of Virna Jandiroba who has an awesome 14-0 record with 11 wins by submission. She is coming over from Invicta.

I was going to pick Carla at a -135, but now if I place a bet I will place a small bet on Virna at +115. The reason for this is that Carla likes the clinch game. Virna is obviously a BJJ specialist. 10 of her submissions have come by choke. This tells me that she will handle the positions well and thus Carla's game should be neutralized.

Carla was only submitted once by one of my favorite fighters Megumi Fujii in 2010 and this is the only thing that is stopping me from betting now.

I will need to take a look at some of Virna's matches before I bet.
