Two Days in Madrid - Statues and Miscellaneous
This pano really panned out! The central building is called officially the Edificio Carrión, but everyone knows it by the name of the famous beverage brand which is displayed on its facade since 1972!
Let's remind also everybody that Spain is technically a monarchy, so here is your royal palace, the habitual residence of the King and Queen of Spain, but still available to visit!
But there is no King or Queen of Spain who has more statues than... THESE TWO GUYS: yes, I want to speak of Don Quijote and his loyal Sancho Panza. Here you have them at the Plaza de España:
And here in front of the Spanish Congress, you have their author, Cervantes:
Another artist who cast a long shadow in Spain is of course GOYA, and he had a place of choice in front of El Prado, the biggest museum of Spain:
Last but not least, since we are speaking about landmarks of the Spanish capitals, here is the Plaza Mayor with the statue of Felipe III in the middle of it:
And of course, people still love the lovelocks craze:
Last, I could not resist entering the Atocha Train Station, which had been turned into a glasshouse with a real jungle inside. And in black and white, it's even better:
Thanks for watching!
All pictures taken on 12/13 March, with Ipad and OneplusOne.
