Is using bidbots to promote your posts really bad given the fact that Whales that are supposed to use their SP to reward users end up delegating 80% of it to bidbots?

Bidbots are not even profitable in most of the cases. Except, if you are owning one (or more).
Nowadays I don't use bidbots. I tried them a few times in the past, but that is all.

True...
They only help in building up your SP...

Yes its wrong, and the same can be said about the whales who do that as well.

Too bad then because all some people will ever see on their post is $0.5 when it is actually worth more. Even most curation communities out there tend to vote on members' posts. At the end of the day it is so messed up. To make matters worse, the new system now favours curators, which literally means the above $0.5 only gives the author a reward worth $0.25. How terrible is that and much SP is invested in bidbots and users who don't use them get no rewards and the SP goes to waste just sitting there ☹

Just look back at your posts, I think you overvalue your content. I don't see the passion, you are too stressed about the reward maybe?

Well, I am more of an actifiter these days and actually put less time in content these days but nothing has changed even when I used to put in so much effort and time into it. It doesn't even matter anymore, because no matter what you create, the same number of upvotes with the same value is what you receive. I am just worried when others have to bash out on people using the services of the bidbots though. I think here on steem, one should choose where to invest their SP and steem depending on the returns and the truth is these bidbots do bring returns. The only issue is quality contents are not promoted and that is the problem. With that in mind, I will be minding the kind of contents I promote in the future though just to make sure I don't abuse the service because that's where the real problem is and not bidbots.
