The abduction of Proserpina
Hello stimianos friends I hope you are well, today I come to present a work of art that I did not know and when I saw it I thought it was magnificent, I am not really an art connoisseur but seeing this sculpture I feel admiration of the one who made it (Gian Lorenzo Bernini), it was In between 1621 and 1622, when this artist carved a large block of marble to give life to this beautiful sculpture, it seems incredible to me that with the tools of that era you will get to such a degree of detail that I see in this sculpture.
What represents the sculpture is the moment when Hades (god of the underworld) madly in love with Persephone decides to kidnap her to make her his queen, these are the names in Greek mythology in the Roman would be Pluto (the raptor) and Proserpina (the abducted)
The sculpture is in the Borghese Gallery (Italy-Rome)
The pictures with photos to appreciate their beauty
