August 17, 2017 - Shoulders smoked!
Today's work out consisted of some strength work of power snatches and floor presses at 85 lbs on the barbell. I had already done 25 of those power snatches in yesterday's workout so my shoulders were already tired to begin with!
The main portion of today's workout was:
For time
30 meters over head barbell lunges (75 lbs)
35 calories air dyne
30 meters handstand walk
35 calories air dyne
30 meters front rack barbell lunges (75 lbs)
It took me 18:22 to finish this deceivingly simple workout. Stabilizing the bar in the over head lunges were way more difficult that I anticipated. Air dyne was actually not too bad...and that's something I never say! The handstand walks completely wasted my shoulders.
I still need to work on being stable freestanding upside down! I think the longest stretch of handstand walking was only 3 meters. Although I am good at gymnastics in Crossfit, this is one of two movements I have always struggled with.
Of course afterwards I had the genius (/s) idea of playing around with more handstand work. I tried some press to handstand on the wall and then decided to see if I could balance on one hand. Well...tada!!!

I find it hard to eat right before working out. It's like I feel heavy and the food just wants to come back up. However, if I don't eat then I feel weak and tired. So the only compromise for me is a smoothie.
To get as many nutrients in as possible, I blend together some fruit, whole milk (yes the fat is good for you), collagen, and almond butter. I could drink this all day!
I hope you're all having an amazing day!!!
I learned my lesson this morning about not eating. Did 10-9-8...1 Power Snatches and Over Head Squats at 60# fasted and I almost died. Took me almost 25 minutes.ugh.
Beautifull :)
Great! Thanks
