Brasov at Christmas! Must visit!!
I took these pictures on a trip we had to Brasov, Romania. This city is seated close to the mountains and it's surrounded by many natural attractions every step of the way.
Here are some pictures from the Christmas season, when the city with it's already picturesque and historic view, transforms itself into a magical place. It's like you're in the middle of some fairytale, all the lights, Christmas carols in the background and if it's snowing even better.
Here is the central historic plaza where all the beauty begins.
You can see on top of the mountain a Holywood-like lighten name of the city. It's great as an orientation spot and it looks pretty cool too. :)
Here is the plaza itself, they usually install a natural pine(guess this was somewhere at 50-60 feet high, I know, WOW) but they really have where to bring those from, Brasov is surrounded by huge and dense pine forests.
The building next to the tree is the historic "Advice House" Casa Sfatului, where the city administration was established centuries ago. Now that building is a historic museum.
This is the main street crossing the plaza, love the details of the Christmas lights.
Very good taste. :)
And a closeup shot of the old council house.
Close to the plaza (1,5 miles down the beautiful pedestrian street, filled with shops and cosy restaurants), there is the Cityhall building, an old an nice building lighten by these awesome lights.
More lights, many variations, loved that... :)
If you ever wonder through Romania, please don't miss this beautiful city. You'll never regret it. They say it is the most beautiful place of Romania. There are many more pictures I took there, in the daylight too, but guess that's going to be a different post.
Hope you've enjoyed these pics as I enjoyed taking them in person and feel free to share to someone who may be interested of knowing a bit more about Romania.
