Varanga - Ride to a small village
It's been a while since I last posted about my riding adventures. Was a bit lost in practicing Dirt biking.
Being a wanderlust, I always loved to visit new places and explore them. I've seen many people uploading pictures on a boat with the temple background.
I was very curious to visit that place and learn more about it.
One fine day I decided that I hade to ride there and even click a picture of myself like that.
On enquiring, I came to know, that the place is called as Varanga. And the temple is called Lake temple.
Varanga is basically a pilgrim centre for jains. This beautiful village contains ancient houses and had wonderful Basadis (Jain Temples).
The main attractions of Varanga are Neminatha Basadi, Chandranatha Basadi and Kere Basadi.
Neminatha basadi: Varanga raya king built this about 1200 years back. Main attraction of this basadi is a 5 feet black statue of Lord Neminatha. 22nd thirthankara in padmanasa seating on kamala peeta. (Lotus seat) .
Kere basadi: This is the main attraction of this place. Temple is in between the lake. It looks like lotus in the pond. Also known as jalamandir.
Chandranatha bansadi: It is also known as Matada basadi. Because it houses the jain mutt.
After visiting both the places Namithanatha and Chandranatha basadiwe, we headed to see the lake temple.
Many devotes were waiting to corss the lake. Even we waited along with them. The lake is filled with beautiful water lyllies, fishes and turtles. To kill time while waiting for the boat, westarted to feed the fish. After a few hours, our boat arrived and I was so happy and excited that finally I got to click the mandatory picture on lake temple. It was like dream come true moment.
The poojari did pooja in the temple and gave us the prasad. After clicking a few pictures of the temple we came back.
Overall it was a fun filled ride and I can't thank my fellow bikerni pooja who tagged along with me for the ride.
