In one paragraph what's about to happen with Bitcoin starting in 1 week.
Segwit2X should go through without a hitch. 80% of mining hash powering are required to activate it, which currently there are aprox. 90% that are signaling for it. If Segwit2X has 80% majority code will lock within 2.5 days approx. July 25th. BIP 148 UASF will be unnecessary Aug. 1st but a good back up just in the case Segwit2X fails to activate. There could be two Bitcoins but unlikely after these two deadlines. Its clear 80-90% of market wants Segwit so if other BTC chain forms it will be immediately killed by majority chain hashing power.
****Remember best time to buy is when others are fearful. Even before Segwit activates all crypto market could double like what we saw in Litecoin even before Segwit was certain. If there are two Bitcoins after which I believe is highly unlikely its clear 80-90% of market will be behind the one with Segwit activation. Buckle up - the wild ride is here and its going to be crazy up's and downs over next two weeks.
Ive been saying the same thing. People always say they wish bitcoin will have a nice correction so they can buy more but when it happens they get scared and sell lol The market has it backwards, bitcoin is getting an upgrade which is what we want. This is a positive step for bitcoin and people should be buying not panicking!
Yeah no kidding. When the opportunity comes they panic out of it. They should just hold whatever they had and keep buying more to get cost averages down in. Last year that's what I did with ETH after the DAO hack, then really loaded in Dec. when the bottom fell out. Its the same thing all over again and again. Its too easy.

The probability of a fork seems to be overstated. I agree with you that daring investors can make use of the general investor's risk aversion.
