Sea urchins

Snorkeling I found several Hedgehogs and grab one of them to share a post with you.

These Urchins are among the stones, they are family of starfish and sea cucumbers.
Those can cause us an unpleasant moment because of their huge sharp spikes that can dig into the area where it makes contact.

Despite its thorns, it is food for crabs, seals and some birds.

Sea urchins reproduce sexually and usually have separate sexes. Fertilization is usually external, and both male and female secrete their sex cells to water, where they unite to form the zygote. Once fertilization occurs, some species collect the fertilized eggs and keep them in their spines to give them a higher level of protection.

Again leave this species in its natural habitat.
