Um... I Think I Am An Alien! 👽 Can We Please Try to Verify This?🌏👾
Something disturbed me deeply this morning, making me question my human-ness.
Were you like me, using pencil most often (being a perfectionist) so the mistakes could easily be erased and corrected to avoid the dreaded red pen of the teacher whose mark determined your grade?
No permanence of mistaking anymore, now we could erase anything!
What was that white stuff called? Do you remember?
I distinctly remember it to be called white out, as in “White-Out” which makes sense because it’s a white substance that covers markings on a white page…
However, today I was struck with new information telling me what I believe 100% to be true, is no longer true at all.
I say no longer because I believe this is another entry in the 'Mandala Effect.'
Have you heard of the Mandela Effect?
If not, let me just give you a quick overview than you can dive into it more if it interests you as much as it did me. I spent hours having my mind blown over pieces of information I believe to be true, being proven to be something else.
How did all of this start?
Think about it for a second. What do you know about our popular hero’s death?
Did he die in prison, fighting for freedom?
See, a lot of people believe he did and yet another truth exists entirely.
This is what led researchers to claim this ever popular phenomenon, “The Mandela Effect” wherein a large population of people believe something (the same) that is contradictory to what history has recorded.
Crazy isn’t it?
One day when I was watching a video of a young boy explaining his theory on how this all happened, being inquisitive as I am, decided to go all in and research it like a feign. (If you're interested in this theory, you should check this kid out! He might just be a super genius!)
It seems as though I am on the outside looking in because out of almost all of the examples I studied, I believed the opposite truth to be real.
Does that make me an alien? Am I not part of the planet?
While I wouldn’t put that past me, since I obviously am an oddball and my own character… other people agree with me.
One day I got 3 other people involved and showed them the same pictures that rattled my brain with no explanation to be found.
Guess what? They agreed on all accounts with me! (Except for the pictures we didn’t know or weren’t familiar with.)
Does that mean that my group of interactions and relationships all belong to the same clan? A different species? The people of the past caught in a time-warp?
What is going on?
I sense some 'Stranger Things' happening here…
Anyway, back to white out. I swear to you, I saw that bottle plenty of times a day and I distinctly remember it being spelled out, 'white' however, search online and you’ll be presented with an alternate reality in which 'White Out' is now spelled 'Wite Out.'
BOOM!
Mind blown yet?
I’m not out here trying to tell you the world is ending or anything but, something crazy is happening and I am not the only one talking about it.
Now that you know, watch, I predict you will notice this a lot now.
Tell me what you think about this. How do you remember White Out?
Have you experienced this before?
Every time I am confronted with another of these examples, I just can not understand it. My memory believes so distinctly, the way it is being presented as not true, the way other people claim to remember it, but different than how it is recorded. I certainly don't have the answers...
I will leave you with one more example before I go as it’s another one that joggled my mind into a state of sincere confused disarray.
Pikachu, you know pika, pika our favorite Pokemon… picture him in your head.
What’s he look like?
He’s yellow right?
Pointy ears?
Big red circles on his cheeks?
Firebolt tail…
OK.
Now on his tail…
Is there a brown tip?
If you say no, go away right now because we are in different realities.
Pikachu had a brown spot on his tail. Could even be black depending on the representation. I tell you- I KNOW! I had so many images and characters of him, I have his appearance burned into my memory.
However, life is trying to say he had a completely yellow tail.
You tell me.
I don’t buy that for a second.
So kids, what’s going on? Are we dreaming? Is this some kind of inception?
What happened to Pikachu’s tail?
This is a phenomenon created by popular opinion, it’s not my own philosophy, I am merely showcasing the effect of it via my own experience however, I would love to hear your thoughts! Let me know!
Until then, I will be sleeping with one eye open, keeping an eye on my door... hoping not to be probed and prodded in my sleep ;)

I've seen similar discussions about a beloved series of books from my childhood--the Berenstein Bears vs. now they are saying it was always Berenstain Bears. I would have sworn it was "White-Out", too! Trippy. :)

I'll have to see if my mother kept any of our books. :)
But that's the inception part of this... even if she did, they WILL be spelled the 'new' way... it's crazyness. I just do not understand lol
I thought it was BEARenstein bears :P No, I'm just kidding, I agree with @plantstoplanks on this one.. it's so strange. I was just looking at my old books maybe 2/3 years ago... I feel like I have it so clear in my mind!
Haha! Now that really would have made sense for a bear family. ;) It is a little bit unnerving, though, that if there can be something stirred up over such an innocuous subject (children's books or liquid corrector)--what other things are being toyed with??

I remember liquid paper. Originally called mistake out. The human mind believes what it wants. It jumps to conclusions and fills in information that makes sense. Everyone knows that white is spelled white and not wite. So your mind fixes it to the way that is comfortable. No my dear, your are not an alien. You are becoming awake. Most humans are asleep and bindly belive whatever their mind tells them. When you start to believe your heart over your mind you start to wake up. HMMMM HEART TO HEART!!!!! There is a reason you choose to be called that and it is because you are human
Awww @sostrin thank you for the thoughtful comment! Hmm you may be onto something... I am just curious to know why this phenomena is coming to be so popular with so many 'iconic' images and experiences. How can so many people think and believe something that's not true... Personally I agree with the kid's theory in the video I tagged. I can't think of anything better myself :P
However, waking up has been a process I have been on for about 4 years now so I must say this is not my only experience such as this and you're right, it's exactly where @heart-to-heart comes from <3
