@rmsbodybuilding useless? Not at all! Diamonds are super-useful. Not as rings or jewelry, maybe, but it's still the strongest material in the world. Diamonds are used in the industry to cut other materials, which couldn't be cut otherwise.
I don't know why diamonds were "recruited" in favor or the jewelry industry, of all areas, but they are super-efficient and helpful when it comes to other, more practical things and uses.
