I love my parents 😍😍😍

in #parents8 years ago (edited)

When I was a kid, my parents have many rules for me to be followed even in simple things such as I am not allowed to eat junk foods, drink soda, eat more chocolates and not even allowing me to go outside for play without them and many others. They just told me these stories because I don't really remember.

My parents. I call them "mamang and papang"

Then, when I became a teenager, I have more rules to be followed and now with additional obligations to do. I have household chores to do such as cooking rice, boiling hot water, wash our dishes and sweep the floor. These obligations totally annoyed me. I got angry behind their back. I felt that they don't love me because they make things hard for me. I do not easily get what i want, I have to work for it specially that we were not financially stable. Before going to school, I need to help them cleaned and removed the backbone of fish (danggit) to make it boneless, then put it in the fishnet under the heat of the sun to make it dried.

The dried boneless fish (danggit)

As I grow old, I realized that I have the best parents in the world, they have not given me the luxury of life but they have told me more than anything that I needed in order to survive the test of life. I have learned to appreciate simple things that even the smallest thing in the world is important. I learned to become wise and thrifty. I am the best of me because my parents molded me the best attitude that no one can steal. I may not be the billionare that a poor kid dreamed of but I believe I have the best attitude that everybody can go along with.

My desire in life as of the moment until my last breathe is to make my parents happy. Whatever they want, I am willing to give and find ways in order to fulfill their happiness. Seeing them growing old makes me sad because I know time will really come that they'll be gone. I'm not ready. I don't want to talk about it.

So to all steemians out there, please make quality time with your parents even if we are so busy making money on this temporary world.

XOXO,
Hazel
