DIY - Urban Gardening - Our Cherry Tomatoes Have Fruit - Honolulu Hawaii

We have a few Cherry Tomato plants growing. One is dying and I am going to probably pull it today.

This picture is of the plant that randomly sprouted out of our Lettuce pot. It just started to fruit so we should have some Tomatoes soon.

We still have four jars of Pickled Tomatoes left but we have ran out of our fresh ones.

We have learned that if we want to eat them fresh we let them ripen fully on the vine. The test is not the color put the firmness of the flesh. We like to pick them when they just lose their hardness. We find that they are the sweetest then.

For pickling we pick them at all stages. We like the mix of colors so we will pick some even if they are green.
