Her husband, musician Akramul Islam said in the first light, 'Shammi Akter had been suffering from breast cancer for six years. Shammi Akter was in the house. Today, being ill, she was being taken to the hospital. But before reaching the hospital he gave up on four o'clock in the afternoon. Now I have returned home with his body.

Family sources said that the janazah of Shammi Akter will be held in Shantinagar Aminbagh Jami Mosque after Zuhr prayers on Wednesday. He will then be buried at Shahjahanpur graveyard.
