Dtube Creator Life: Real Creators Will Always Create From Passion Not.. Not The Money/ Work To Inspire | Vlog 201
What's up Dtube, my name is Harshil Patel and today I want to talk about something I deeply care about :)
Content creators and their motives. I think with anything in life, stepping forward with the idea of making money.. you will live an unhappy life. Don't get me wrong, money is very important. But when it comes to the creative process... It's tough to tell your creative brain to make money.
Telling your creative brain to make money actually puts a strain on your life and ultimately you will fail.
Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert said that... Read the book. It's amazing.
Final thoughts:
Grateful :)

This is my challenge to everyone:
Make your next 10 videos declining payouts.
#audibleSilence.
Now that's a challenge for sure
Solid point man. I agree. Creators create for passion not for money... however I do have some caveats to this.
First, we must not confuse the fine line of passion and work. When looking at examples like Casey Neistat and others, he did not monetize his channel until late because he loved what he did. However, he was also working and making millions in brand deals with companies like Samsung and Beme.
This is a very early platform. Ones who create on YT/FB/IG have all kinds of ways to monetize. Steem is still very young and you hardly have companies looking for influencers here. As of now the only practical way to earn is upvotes.
With that said, your message is solid bro 👌🏼 Awesome video.
Of course man, I think self awareness is king as gary v would say. Dtube or not, I would be making videos regardless. I think someone who truely wants to create will find a way to sustain themselves.
And honestly, I'd say you're a living testimony. Life on the go, constantly creating, and constantly making it happen 💪🏼
I have been watching more of your videos recently and I see that your a hard worker. And always consistent, which I am also working very hard at doing. So I'm learning a lot from your videos. Try out vlogging more...haha But your right, FB or other would amount to 0 so I'm grateful for everything I get and just gonna keep pushing on. I love doing it though, but it is a lot of work I must admit. Do you get burned out? What is your motivation?
hey @alphasteem, welcome :)
you know, I was an uber driver for 2 years after college just so I can make enough money to pay the bills and then spend all of my other time on videos. For me it's simple, if you love creating, you will find a way to make it happen.
I don't usually burn out, but I do take days where I don't do anything all morning and afternoon. And then get to work. I make sure I get a 30 minute workout in, journal, and meditate for 10 minutes everyday. I think that's what keeps me going :)
Yeah, that's dedication. Really cool! Your good at it though. I do love doing it, and learning a lot from people here in the process always wanted to so I'm glad I finally started. The financial incentive is always motivational though, keep it up!
Big Magic is the. best. book. ever.
I am a real creator for sure. Because if i was doing it for the money i would be gone long time ago... clearly with the money i am being rewarded for a couple of months now :s lol
^^^ yes!! Exactly, it's amazing steemit let's us make money.
