Bapak Pucung (Dysdercus cingulatus) or Red Cotton Bug is a pest, both young and adult insects, which attack plants from the Malvaceae family and the Bombacaceae family.
Bapak Pucung insects have the characteristics of red colored body with a length of 11-17 mm and 4.5 mm wide. Behind the head and abdomen there are white and black lines, while on the brown colored wings there is a pair of black spots. The nymphs are bright red and usually live in groups.

This insect I found was doing a "mating" activity which made it easier for me to take some of these insect images with a smartphone camera plus a macro lens.
While doing a mating activity, Bapak Pucung females are more aggressive and able to drag Bapak Pucung males with smaller body size.
