Nano Wallets To Launch This Week

In the first of a new weekly developer update post series, Nano announced that Android and desktop wallet applications would be available this week, and indicated ongoing correspondence with Apple. They also announced a supply of 100 Ledger Nano S wallets to be given to the community through rewards and incentive programs.
IBM & Mediaocean To Launch Media Supply Chain Pilot

IBM and software studio Mediaocean will launch a pilot blockchain program for the digital media supply chain. It will look to eliminate intermediaries in contracting and distribution processes to cut costs by a goal of 60%. The pilot will launch in July of this year, with Pfizer and IBM Watson both attached to participate.

The self-proclaimed “most advanced blockchain platform in the world” has seen the price of its proprietary coin fall 25% in the last 24 hours as rumors of insider trading and price manipulation continue to pile up. Twitter user Jared Dunn posted an audio clip, accompanied by screenshots of the SkyCoin Telegram, that allegedly reveals SkyCoin CEO Synth admitting ongoing knowledge of insider trading practices. SkyCoin funds were frozen after Synth claimed that he and his wife had been “held hostage” and robbed of 18 BTC and nearly 6500 SKY by EVOLAB, the Chinese marketing firm fired by SkyCoin for suspected embezzlement. Yeah, we can’t keep it quite straight, either.
Binance to Support Maltese Startups

Binance and Canadian data firm Thomson Reuters will support a new startup acceleration program launched by the Malta Stock Exchange. The initiative will help foster growth for Maltese companies and position them for international competition.
Federal Ethics Office Issues Guidelines for Digital Asset Disclosure

The United States Office of Government Ethics has issued a statement regarding its positions on the disclosure of digital assets held by members of the federal Executive Branch. In short, while the OGE does not consider digital assets “real currency,” they are “property” with the potential for income, and they therefore recommend full disclosure.
Cambodia Issues Statement Regarding Trading Activities

The National Bank of Cambodia issued a joint statement with the Cambodian SEC and the National Police to clarify that any trading activities associated with cryptocurrency are illegal unless licensed by the proper authorities. Citing the volatile nature of digital currency, the statement applies to both individuals and entities.
Bank of Korea Will Not Issue Digital Currency

The Bank of Korea will not adopt an institution-backed cryptocurrency, it announced in a report yesterday. The report states that central bank digital currencies (CDBCs) are too risky and could lead to market destabilization. The report was issued in response to an ongoing study by an internal task force regarding the viability of CDBCs.
Kerala Government Adopts Blockchain for Agriculture

Another entity will look to blockchain to improve its agricultural supply chain integrity. Kerala, an Indian state, plans to leverage blockchain technology to track supply, speed up purchasing, and address inefficiencies in the state’s agricultural insurance protocols.

McAfee to Stop Working with ICOs

McAfee announced via his Twitter today that he will no longer “work with” or “recommend” ICOs, allegedly at the request (“threats”) of the SEC. He issued a dire warning for current ICOs to “look forward to arrest.” But fear not - he has an SEC-proof ICO alternative in the works. Just you wait.
