Do you think that social media is making teenagers dumber and more superficial with everything?

The invention of technology and social media has caused alot of changes and differences in the world today has it sometimes serves as an advantage and also a great disadvantage.

From my perspective, I think social media has actually made most teenagers dumber and superficial with everything such that most of this teens can't do without the use of social media because they are now addicted to it.

The fact is that this has caused great harm than good in our world today because these teens are now imitating whatever they see or watch on social media due to the level of their mentality.

The sad fact is that apart from social media taking the time of most of these teens, it has now enabled them take part in some unsecured and derogation activities which can have a very bad influence on their lives. The fact is some innocent kids now engage in sexual activities because they have started watching pornographic movies via the media. Some teenage girls now dress very erotic because they want to imitate some women they see in the media.

During my teenage age, I haven't even experienced some activities or things these recent teenagers are experiencing because of their wrong use of social media.

When we delve into Educational Activities, only very few kids make use of the media wisely by using it to study. But the majority of them use it in a very wrong way such that they don't even have time to study. They only have time to chat, watch movies and do other irrelevant activities which keeps them more busy than learning valuable things. The sad fact is that this activities has brainwashed most of these kids making their intellectual Quotient (IQ) to reduce because they are not maximizing the brain in a good manner.

I think it is now time we find something to do about the early exposure of these innocent kids or teenagers on the social media. This implies that every parent has a great role to play by monitoring their kids and giving them gadget when it is time. The fact is that most of these kids don't actually need any gadgets at their stage, but some parents never knew they can destroy their children lives by providing for them what is not really necessary for them. I employ every parent to stay alert and be more cautious about their kids because "these children are the leaders of tomorrow". Is it good if tomorrow leaders engage in irrelevant act such as sexual activities or other criminal attitude? The answer is NO! Because it won't add more to the development of the world other than demoting our progress.

In conclusion, not all kids are dumber with the use of social media, but majority of them misuse the social media which affect them negatively because there is high chance of them practicing irrelevant things they come across and also it waste their time alot such that they don't have time to study anymore.

NOTE : I only wrote this from my perspective about what is happening around me in my surroundings or country. It maybe very different in your case but over here most of these teens do end up living wayward life all in the name of social media.
