Adventures with Alice in Wonderland blog#8
Today I'm going to show you bracelets i create from tiny 2mm glass beeds.
I've made my own loom from three pieces of oak wood and a few metal barber combs screwed into each end.
I use the Japanese 2mm glass seed beeds as these ones are always the most uniform in size. They come in the most amazing colours but I recommend if you feel inspired to give it a go to just buy 50grams of each of the primary colours and maybe a few flouro, you can always buy more if you get into the craft.
I use long very thin needles the packet i have is called needles no 100 for nylon.
A good investment is a few needle threaders too.
The nylon thread I have is called Buffalo B-46 40gram and it's super strong and very thin!.
Really good natural light to work in and a rock steady hand and such a lot of patience is required to make these, it's a wonderful meditation.
The reward when finished makes me want to
design more in depth complex colourful patterns.
Heres what a few weeks worth of creative creations look like
Wishing you a great, creative inspiring day 😊
Very nice @happysmileyman! I love the detailed designs in your bracelets!
😊😊 thanks @underthekiltfarm. Symmetry in motion 😉
Oh man, I love these! Do you draw the patterns on millimetric paper? Jeeez... and you said I am patient! YOU are the definition of patience! I am sure you can make even a big painting with seed beads on a loop!!!!! Think about... like a 50cm x 75cm ... a landscape or a vase with flowers....
I knew you would love these @starjewel and blessings for inspiring me with your posts earlier this week.
Omg that would be beyond wild, i often immagine bigger looms that could allow say for example the one I've made above to perpetuate and be made for example what you sugested a huge wall piece. A landscape would look terrific too 😊
Yes! I was thinking of those amazing Persian rugs. You know how to make looms, so you can supersize those looms and make something like a rug, as a wall piece... with beads... could be geometric design, landscape, anything. Millions of beads I guess. We can set up some sort of sponsorship to raise money to buy seed beads. Just an idea. If I lived closer to you, I would definitely ask you to make me a big loop. :)
Sounds fantastic @starjewel lets do it. 😊
Heres a photo of the one I nearly finished today, my head was in a total knot trying to untie this from my immagination.

That must be a really great way to calm down! Personally I prefer hiking to calm myself down.. But I love your work! 😍
Its such a wonderful meditation @rebeccaontheroof and thank you for the kind compliment. I must say nature does it for me too. 😍 wishing you a great day
