I was just sitting down for breakfast this morning when I noticed something strange across the street over my neighbour's house. I ran to get my camera before it disappeared and captured these images:

It seems to be one of those rare photographic opportunities where everything falls into place just right.
There is nothing unusual about the water vapour form the furnace vent condensing to form a cloud (looks like smoke). What is unusual is the angle and position of the Sun behind the trees! Apparently, there is a gap between the branches of the tress that allowed a beam of sunlight to strike and reflect off the water vapour cloud and make it look like some sort of fireball. The Sun was still very low in the sky which gave it an orange tinge like we often see at sunset. Nothing worth calling the authorities about, but nevertheless, an interesting phenomenon that I thought was worth capturing.
