Introducing What I Like about Sarikei 为您介绍我所认识喜欢的泗里街

I am actually recuperating from my short travel back hometown so I have been feeling quite tired physically. I was talking to @heartscally that I need to churn out my post on self-control to complete my long overdue Fruits and Values Series but still, I have to go with a shorter post today as I also catch up on some family time with my son and husband after being away.

其实我刚从外婆的葬礼回来，还在感得疲惫，因为一直都是匆匆忙忙的赶回去又赶回来。现在，我也特地抽时间陪老公儿子，毕竟我离开了三天，独自回去泗里街。我一直想完成我的一个系列，但现在还是心有余而力不足，实在抱歉。

So today I would like to introduce some food I ate in the past days in this small district called Sarikei in the land of Borneo. It is a very small place but it has been developed quite a lot since my last visit. Most Chinese here speak the Foo Chow dialect though my maternal grandparents and family speak a type of Cantonese called Kong Fu. Hence, most of the Chinese food here are very inspired by Foo Chow way of cooking.

因此，今天就简单为大家介绍我回去所吃到的一些美食。泗里街是个福洲人为多的小镇，位于婆罗洲岛 。 至今，这个小镇也发展了不少。 我的外公外婆是广府人，但所住在泗里街的家人都说得一口流利的福州话,除了我之外。所以，这里的道地美食都深受福州人的影响。

They were meat-looking food made of flour. 这些都是面粉做成的“假肉”。

Apparently Sarawakians would look for this drink. 好像只有砂劳越人会找的饮料。

Lifestyle 生活方式

The lifestyle here is slow and simple. There are many practices of homesteading and rearing of own livestock. They also plant their own vegetables for own eating and even for selling. Almost everyone know each other in this small town. The air here is fresh too. There have been an increase of the vehicles, showing the affordability has also increased. This is a town with no airport, so I needed to take an-hour journey by car or bus from Sibu to reach Sarikei.

这里的生活方式缓慢而简单。 自家养殖家畜和饲养牲畜的做法很多。 他们还种植自己的蔬菜供自己吃，甚至出售。 几乎这个小镇里的所有人都有可能认识。 这里的空气也很新鲜。 车辆数量有所增加，表明经济适用性也有所增加。 这更是一个没有机场的城镇。所以，我飞往诗巫后，得坐一个小时多的车程，才抵达泗里街。

It was a really good getaway for myself to go back to the simplicity of life.
