Freewrite Prompt: Graceful

"Hahahahhahahahahahahha! This is too funny!" Ophelia was laughing her hearts out, hitting the sofa she was sitting on and also her brother who was watching the same show with her.

Here comes their Chinese mom, sighing at her daughter's behaviour. "How many times do I have to tell you, Ophelia? A girl shouldn't behave like this, that laughter is too loud and look at how you sit. It's just so improper! " she said, shaking her head.

"But mom.... "

"A girl should always look gentle and graceful at all times. That way you will bring honour to your household." her Chinese mom was still stern.

"That's old-fashioned. I'm a modern day Mulan, okay!"

True enough, Ophelia grew up to be funny, wise, smart, and much on the clumsy and not so graceful side. Her mom sent her for ballet and dance, she ended up in Hip-hop. She fats and burps as she pleases. But her words and heart are always full of grace, genuine and doesn't try to bootlick. She thinks the best of people and she was real to everyone. She sure says the darnest things but she was not hypocritical.

Her best friend, who sat with her for years in school Damian has a crush on her. Of course she didn't know. All this while, she thought he likes the girl next door, the graceful ballerina girl. She tried to set them up on dates, with her her going along too for the first few times and tried to slowly fade herself out.

One day, Damian really couldn't take it anymore and he pulled Ophelia one side, "Don't you do that again! I'm not going out with Jane anymore if you are going to go missing whenever we are going out."

"But why? I thought you like her! "

"Erm no! You don't even know who I like? "

"Hahahhahahahah I don't? Please don't tell me you like me! Hahahhahahahah! " Ophelia was laughing her signature laugh again. The loud and not-so-graceful laughter, in her mom's words.

Damian's face changed. He looked at her seriously and didn't laugh along.

"You can't be serious!" Ophelia's eyes widened in shock. "But why? I'm not even graceful."

"Well you are in your own ways." Damian looked at her with a different gaze this time, one that she had never noticed before.

"Uh-oh!"
