White Gold of Bangladesh and It's Importance

Today is the 17th of April, 2023. Hope you are well with God's blessings. I am also good. Today I will talk about a sector that is very important in the economy of Bangladesh. In this sector is our shrimp industry. This sector contributes directly to the country's economy. Let's see how this shrimp industry contributes to our country's economy.
Prawns are called "White Gold" in our country. Development of the shrimp industry in Bangladesh has been since 1980s. Since then the production of shrimp was gradually increased and after some time they were exported to other countries after meeting the needs of the people of the country. Since then, this gold of our country is exported to the US, European Union and Middle East countries. Our country exports shrimp equally with other countries. India is the first country in the world to export shrimp, followed by China and Bangladesh is in 9th position.
A study found that shrimp exports could generate $7.76 billion from 2021-2022. So every year Bangladesh is going like this which is helping to develop the economy of Bangladesh. Bangladesh is now on the Least of Developing Countries. Bangladesh will leave the Least Developed Countries in 2026.
The shrimp industry is mainly carried out in Khulna and Chittagong in Bangladesh. The country's total area under cultivation in 275,000 hectors. There are 56 different varieties of shrimp accessible in Bangladesh, including 37 types of marine shrimp, 12 types of brackish and 7 freshwater varieties.
The shrimp industry has become a growing industry. This sector has created many self-employment opportunities. Entrepreneurs have gone from zero to heroes in this sector. For shrimp farming, they take baby shrimp from hatcheries or collect them from scratch. However, the Bangladesh Department of Fisheries gives shrimp farmers training as their shrimp are not easily infected with the virus.
As a result of this industry, our non-vegetarian needs are met, and new employment opportunities are created which are working for the development of the country. But it also has some disadvantages. For example:
- Unscrupulous traders are pushing jelly to increase the weight of shrimps and exporting them abroad which is a shame for us.
- Excessive use of chemicals is causing soil erosion.
- Excessive shrimp farming is disrupting the ecological balance.
- Paddy cultivation is less injured.
- Many shrimps cannot be exported due to a lack of proper warehousing.
As this sector contributes a lot to the economy of Bangladesh, it is the responsibility of shrimp farmers to cultivate shrimp sustainably without harming the environment. By doing this, the nation can prosper without harming the environment.

দিদি আপনার পোস্ট পড়ে বুঝতে পারলাম চিংড়িকে হোয়াট গোল্ড বলা হয় ৷ আর চিংড়ি মাছে বাংলাদেশে ব্যাপক হারে উৎপন্ন বা চাষ হওয়ায় অন্যান্য দেশে রপ্তানি করে বাংলাদেশে অর্থনৈতিক দিক দিয়ে অনেক এগিয়ে রয়েছে ৷
আর বিশেষ করে বাংলাদেশে অনেক চিংড়ি চাষ করে ফলে অর্থনৈতিক দিক এতো আয় করেছে বাংলাদেশ ৷

বর্তমান সময়ে আমি এমন অনেক মানুষ দেখেছি! যারা কিনা চিংড়ি মাছ চাষ করে,,, তাদের অর্থনৈতিক যে দুর্বলতা রয়েছে,,,, সেটা তারা পূরণ করে! এবং বিদেশে চিংড়ি মাছ রপ্তানি করে,,বৈদেশিক মুদ্রা অর্জন করে।
চিংড়ি মাছকে আমরা আমাদের দেশের অর্থনৈতিক উন্নয়নের জন্য গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখে বলেও,, আমরা মনে করতে পারি! কারণ বেকারত্বের সংখ্যা অনেকটাই কমিয়ে নিয়ে এসেছে,, এই চিংড়ি চাষ।
