This is great information, do you use the chickens heat to keep something from freezing in the winter? Also do you know what heat comes from a 2-4 week old chick?
We don't use any other heat source. I just close up the coop tight during the winter nights. Chicks probably don't give off much heat, but they sure stay close to their mother.
