Second Hand House Plants - DIY Home 013
You are Not Going to Believe How Many House Plants I Got for $20! With the Cold Weather & Darker Days, I Decided I Needed to Bring Some Nature into My Home. I'm Very Much a Novice Plant Mom, So I Really Hope I Can Take Advantage of Getting So Many Lovely House Plants for Such a Little Cost. I've Done My Homework and the Plants that I Got are Very Tolerant and Do Not Require Much Love. So Fingers Crossed I Can Keep Them From Meeting the Composter, lol!
The First Photo is of a Snake Plant, These Guys Like Lots of Sun and to Completely Dry Out Before Getting Another Drink. If They are Over Watered the Leafs will Begin to Droop. This Guy Already has a Droopy Leaf.. So I'm Glad I Know that that is a Bad Sign and How to Make him Happy Again.
I Got 2 Heartleaf Philodendron, which is a Very Popular House Plant Due to it's Ease of Care. I've Found the Perfect Spots for these Plants Which Offer Bright, Indirect Sunlight. And as for Watering this is Another Plant that if I Forget to Water it, I Shouldn't Have to Worry as it Likes to Dry Out in Between Watering.
This Adorable Succulent Only Wants a Sunny Spot to Sit. Are you Seeing a Trend on Watering Here? Another Drought Resistant Plant.
This is a Yukka Plant. It will Grow Around 3 feet Tall, Likes a Bright Room but not Direct Sunlight and to Dry Out Between Waterings. Thankfully I'll be Informed if it is in too Much Sun or Being Watered to Much if the Leaves Begin to Brown.
4 Spider Plants, These are Invincible! Happy as Can Be in Some Sun or a Sunny Room, Grows Fast and Cleans the Air. I'm Sold :)
And Lastly a Cutting of a Baby Succulent and Aloe Vera Plant <3 I've Got them Sitting in Some Water in my Window Sill Right Now in Hopes to Get Some Roots to Grow Before the Get Put into Dirt.
Thank you for Joining me on the 13th Post of DIY Homestead and I Hope I've Inspired you to Create your Own Indoor Oasis by Adding Some More of the Outdoors to your Indoors.

excellent pick-ups! All are great indoor plants which are easy to care for, I think you will do well with these. You'll have to post pics of their progress. Did the cuttings grow roots?
Hi @ejr So Far So Good.. Everything has been Growing and it's Funny you Mentioned Progress Pics Cause I had that in Mind also :) The Cutting of the Succulent is so far doing well but the Aloe Vera Got Sad and Yellow :( If I can't track down another aloe vera baby to try again then I likely will just buy a grown plant to enjoy!
I love snake plant (also called Mother-In-Law's Tongue due to it's sharp ends)! ;) I recently split and repotted mine - they grow so fast with a bit of neglect.
Thanks for showcasing the heartleaf philodendron. I actually haven't seen those before and I could do with a couple for my bathroom.
LOL I Like the Alternative Name for the Snake Plant that's Great! I Hope I Can Neglect Mine Properly to Make it Fill the Pot or Possibly Split as you Have ;) Take a Look at Some Mature Heartleaf Philodendron They Look Fantastic! Great for Hanging off the Edge of Tall Shelves and Planter Stands, Hanging Planters. I Have Lot's of Great Spots for Them in My Home..
