Driftwood Upcycle Part 1
After Moving into Our New Home, We Had Told the Previous Owners They Could Leave Anything in the Backyard They Didn't Want to Take With Them. And Lucky Me.. They Left This Excellent Dried Out and Weathered Wood. Naturally Flat on the Top and Rounded on the Other Side.
The Rounded Side Had Been Sitting Directly on the Ground, So There is Some Rot to Remove.
My Vision is to Turn This Beauty into a Centerpiece for the Length of My Harvest Table.
So Step 1 is to Remove the Rotten Exterior on the Bottom and Sand it Until it Sits Level.
The Sanding was Actually a Bit More Fussy Than I'd Anticipated. Trying to Get it Level was More or Less Trial and Error. Sand, Sand, Sand.. Then Sit it on the Garage Floor to See if it Rocked at all. Repeat Sanding Until Level...
Now That I Have it Level, Wiped off Excess Debris and Moved it Inside ( Cause I'm a Princess and Don't Want to Hang Out in the Dirty Garage) I'm Ready to Begin Bringing This Baby Back to Life With Mineral Oil.

I always wanted to do something similar, but it‘s kinda hard to find a good piece of driftwood.

Yes I was fortunate enough to have this piece in my backyard. I did post the finished project as well. I believe I called it 'Succulent Driftwood' but here is a photo so you don't have to scroll forever to find it :)
